UPS Saved 4 million gallons of gas by eliminating left turns - Is there a lesson for municipalities
to NPR, who brings a lot more detail to the matter, UPS cut left turns out of a lot of their routes to avoid evaporative emissions. Could other municipal fleets (garbage trucks, buses, etc.) take a page out of the UPS playbook for the greater good? Perhaps...
